Today is for the hustlers and the door knockers! Driving for Dollars is an effective way to find off-market properties and make in-person connections. So when I’m driving around — what am I looking for? #1 — Roofs, fences, driveways, and landscaping that needs repair. #2 — Code enforcement and foreclosure notices. #3 — Any signs of vacancy, like overflowing mailboxes or boarded-up windows. Whether you’re a wholesaler or on the fix and flip side of the business, be efficient with your time and keep your eyes peeled. Not every knock is going to lead to an opportunity, but in the famous words of Micheal Scott, “you miss 100 percent of the shots you don’t take” I was recently working on a flip in Sammamish and saw an opportunity to knock on a neighbor’s door and build rapport with a potential client.
